Advocacy
Our Advocates are similar to Caseworkers in that they work directly with guests, however Advocates have their own unique role in the Life Change program. Advocates work to provide information and resources to help guests negotiate through some of the things in life that most people take for granted, but that are time consuming and sometimes difficult to work out without knowledgeable help:
- Replace ID such as a birth certificate or driver's license
- Find short term help with transportation such as bus tickets
- Apply for government income programs like Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped or Worker’s Compensation
- Find a doctor or dentist
- Find counseling services
- Deal with legal or victim assistance
Calgary Legal Guidance
Offers legal consultation with lawyers and/or social benefits advocates for assistance including warrants, family violence, upcoming court dates and family maintenance.

Counseling is available by appointments through Advocates.
