Striving to help our clients regain their independence and become self sufficient, The Mustard Seed offers assistance to clients as they work toward their employment goals.
In Calgary, The Mustard Seed's Employment Centre is designed to provide clients with meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities. The Employment Centre is available to anyone who meets the following criteria:
- Currently experiencing poverty and/or homelessness
- Currently experiencing barriers to employment
- Motivated to obtain sustainable employment and willing to work respectfully and honestly with an Employment Coach
Our staff guide clients through a thorough intake process, and clients are paired with an Employment Coach. Clients are then matched with a job that fits their interests, skills and work experience. When necessary, The Mustard Seed will refer clients to a partner agency for job skills training. Volunteers are also available to help with resumes, cover letters and interview preparation.
The Mustard Seed's Employment Coaches meet with clients regularly to discuss their progress and help with any employment difficulties they may be experiencing. Coaches are also available to address any questions or concerns from clients' employers.
