If I buy a gift on behalf of someone, how will that person be notified?
A Mustard Seed greeting card will be automatically sent to the gift recipient. You can also select to have an email sent to the recipient that notifies them of your gift purchase. To do this, simply select the “I would like to donate on behalf of an individual” option on the Checkout page.
Is the donation form secure?
Yes. All personal information you submit is encrypted using industry standard technologies.
How are prices determined for items in the Gift Catalogue?
Gift amounts include the actual and management costs associated with purchasing an item, carrying out the service, and/or administering the program.
Where does my money go when I purchase a gift?
While the majority of the purchase price goes toward buying and administering the actual gift item, fundraising and administration costs are also built into the price of each gift in the catalogue.
Will I receive a receipt for my gift? Is my gift tax-deductible?
As we are a charitable non-profit society, yes, a tax deductible receipt will be mailed to you by within five business days of purchasing the gift.
What if The Mustard Seed raises more funds than expected for a particular item?
If donations exceed what is needed for a particular item, we will redirect funds to board-approved programs and projects.
How quickly will my thank-you card(s) be sent?
You have the option of choosing an electronic thank-you card in addition to having a card mailed directly to your loved one. Cards are mailed automatically to the honoree’s mailing address provided during the online purchasing process.
