Housing

Our housing program helps guests transition from short-term shelter to long-term, independent housing.

Step Up Housing

Short-term housing program for guests working towards regaining their independence.

Men have a bed of their own in a dormitory style unit. Women either have their own room or share a room with one other person. There are eighteen places reserved for men and four places reserved for women.

Each unit has a washroom, a shower and a kitchenette stocked with food that is provided by The Mustard Seed.

Transitional Housing

The next step in moving towards housing independence.

The Transitional Housing Program is for guests who are ready to begin paying rent and buying and preparing their own meals. Transitional Housing is an apartment-style, long-term program for people who require a longer period of support than is available in Step Up Housing.

Each guest has a private bedroom but shares a kitchen, living room and bathroom with two or three roommates. Our guests live in a community and share daily chores to maintain their apartment and the common areas on their floor.

Guests in this program pay a rent equal to 30% of their gross monthly earnings or a minimum of $120.00. Guests in Transitional Housing must also contribute $31.00 for electricity and $12.00 for telephone and cable.
