Lisa's Basic Italian Cookbook
Easy and Delicious Italian Recipes.
Most recipes discouraged me. They were too intricate and asked for too many spices and ingredients that I didn't have at home. At times, I didn't even know what to look for in the grocery store. I wanted to prepare healthy meals for my family but I didn't want to spend too much time in the kitchen. This motivated me to simplify the recipes by cooking with less ingredients and reducing the amount of fat and/or calories without sacrificing that Mediterranean flavor. Let me share with you my healthy way of cooking -- a combination of both Old and New World Italian gastronomy. Some dishes are rustic and prepared with the simplest ingredients, reflecting the Mediterranean diet (and my own childhood). Others are a little more sophisticated but really easy to prepare and all delicious. - Author Lisa Oliverio
